A Metaphoric of Devastation

Death of Kashmir
After the devastation of October 08 , 2005 , Kashmir and other affected areas of Pakistan have lost their existence.Kashmir is no more there as a land of people , it has become a a great tomb that tells us the story of a fatal incident.Kashmir is like a dead-man that has become death's spokesman. Kashmir is like a person whose kidneys bursted and the poison thus ejaculated has yellowed its face. This yellow face actually is the face of death and it is telling the story of the fatal accident that it faced.Kashmir has ,for the time being, become the vehicle of expression for death itself. Its life is the life of a ghost that couldn't escape the boundaries of this world. Kashmir is dead.

Future of the Dislocated People
According to the tradition Kashmir has always remained a symbol of poverty.Perhaps this po9verty was caused by the ever changing geology of the Himalyas that did't allow these people to prospere and settle.Kashmiri Bazaars were common in all the big cities of the Subcontinent before partition . In these Bazaars poverty stricken and helpless Kashmiri women were compelled to become prostitutes. However , we do hope that this time things will not turn out to be so adverse for many Kashmiri women and children who are left stranded after the devastation. It is a modern world in which people do care for
each other and natural forces are not left alone and unbarred to excercise their devastating authority on the weaker people. We the people of this age have gained a control over nature's power to eradicate the weak, though we still are not able to stop earthquakes. Thus we are hopeful that that around 4 million people who are homeless and who have no economic resources will finally be absorbed in the great cities of Pakistan. However we also hope that this time these people will be admitted to the new societies in a dignigied and respectable manner.

Immigrants of Earthquake
There are around 5 million people who have lost their homes. The places where these people lived have lost their shapes and features so badly that they cannot be revived. These stranded people are facing a situation in which they simply cannot continue to live in their demolished cities, towns and villages. Thus a mass migration of these people towards the lowlands is inevitable. This scenario clearely tells us that in a few months atleast three or four major cities of Pakistan will practically be invaded by the quake immigrants from Kashmir and NWFP.These cities are: Karachi, twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, Peshawar and to a certain extent Jehlum. Thus the economies of these cities should be strengthen so that these cities may become able to absorb these immigrants.

Administration in the Host Cities
It can be expected in present circumstances that around 5 million people would migrate to the cities mentioned above as a result of the earthquake.Administration of these cities may face a difficult situation in the wake of this almost permanant and massive immigration. These immigrants would require dwellings and economic activity. They would require education and schooling, health facilities and other necessities.
